Power Outage on Fuller Avenue Due to Utility Pole Accident

  • PublishedSeptember 18, 2025

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Commuters who normally travel through a segment of Fuller Ave. might need to consider alternate routes. The City of Grand Rapids reports that an accident involving a car and a utility pole at the intersection of Fuller and Innes has disrupted power and deactivated traffic signals along Bradford to 28th St. and along Eastern Ave. between Wealthy and 28th St.

The pole, owned by Consumers Energy, was part of their transmission network. The specific nature of this infrastructure means that there are precise safety measures that must be observed before commencement of repair work.

Motorists are reminded to approach any intersections where the traffic lights are out as four-way stops.

The Consumers Energy outage map currently indicates that approximately 2,500 customers have been affected by the outage.
