Motorcyclist dies in crash at East Terry Street and Imperial Parkway in Bonita Springs – Gulf Coast News and Weather
A motorcyclist died after a crash at the intersection of East Terry Street and Imperial Parkway in Bonita Springs.According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash happened at approximately 11:49 a.m. on Wednesday and involved a motorcycle and another vehicle. FHP said the motorcyclist was pronounced dead on the scene. The Lee County Sheriff’s Office posted that all lanes of traffic were blocked as deputies worked the crash.According to the FHP report, the 22-year-old Naples man was riding a 2016 Yamaha motorcycle south on Imperial Parkway at a high speed before the crash.A 2013 Jeep, driven by an 86-year-old Fort Myers man, was turning left from northbound Imperial Parkway onto westbound East Terry Street as the motorcycle approached.The motorcycle then collided with the right front side of the Jeep in the intersection.According to the report, the Naples man was ejected from the motorcycle, and the motorcycle was engulfed in flames after the crash.The Fort Myers man and the passenger in the Jeep, a 74-year-old Fort Myers woman, were not injured in the crash, FHP troopers said.FHP said the crash is under investigation, and anyone with information can contact the Florida Highway Patrol or SWFL Crime Stoppers.
