Jeff Lloyd and a minor were arrested on attempted murder charges following a robbery on Jefferson Avenue.

ORANGE PARK, Fla. — The Clay County Sheriff’s Office has announced two arrests in the shooting of a 41-year-old man Thursday afternoon in Orange Park.

The sheriff’s office arrested Jeff Lloyd, 19, and a 16-year-old juvenile on attempted murder charges.

Detectives were able to determine the suspects attempted to rob the victim at gunpoint on Jefferson Avenue.

Around 2:11 p.m. Thursday, CCSO received a 911 call from homeowners who heard gunshots. Deputies located the victim laying on the ground. He was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, the sheriff’s office said.

The victim was shot as he attempted to run away from the suspects, according to the sheriff’s office.

A heavily redacted arrest report refers to the suspects having masks and a handgun. The report, which listed the location as 1294 Jefferson Ave., said Lloyd and another person ran out to the victim to render aid after the shooting.

Detectives want anyone with information regarding the shooting to contact the Clay County Sheriff’s Office at 904-264-6512.
