ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — A St. Johns County Fire Rescue lieutenant and his wife were found dead inside of a home in the Entrada Subdivision in St. Augustine on Thursday, according to the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office.
Lt. Shawn Yarbrough of the St. Johns County Fire Rescue Department and his wife, Andrea Nicole Yarbrough, were both found dead at their home at approximately 9:20 p.m.
Police say Shawn Yarborough died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. They are calling Andrea Yarbrough’s death a homicide; she also died from a gunshot wound.
The causes of death were determined by Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Wendolyn Sneed.
SJCSO is calling this a “tragic isolated incident.”
